Winding houses can be found primarily in Lausitz (Germany) as well as in Lower Silesia (Poland) and Northern Bohemia (Czech Republic). There are also scattered examples of these unusual wooden structures in Vogtland, northern and western Saxony and eastern Thüringia. Winding houses belonged mainly to linen weavers, forestry and factory workers, small farmers and craftsmen. The winding house section of the building was built separately and formed the central part of the house. The model is an accurate replica of this unusual and charming traditional architecture, based on prototypes in Upper Lausitz. Interesting roofline and yard entrance. Aerials, water pump and bench are included.
