The signal has a semaphore arm. It has a solenoid mechanism with end position shutoff and feedback contacts. The signal can be used to control train movements. The light changes from red to green. The signal can be operated by remote control using the 7272/72720 or 7271/72710 control boxes (conventional operation) or the 6083/60830 m 83 decoder (digital operation).
